Vision

Susan is the founder and creator of  Mastering the Material™. 

She grew up in a small town in western Nebraska and attended the University of Nebraska at Lincoln where she majored in accounting. After college, Susan began her career as an accountant and quickly learned that she was an entrepreneur at heart. In 2001, she founded a state tax advisory firm where she spent the next twenty-one years. 

Religion and spiritual teaching was not a part of Susan’s childhood and most of her adult life, she considered herself agnostic and at times, atheist. Susan’s spiritual journey and awakening to the truth of who and what we are began in 2011 with a terminal cancer diagnosis. Through her healing journey, she began to discover a higher consciousness that lives in, around and through all that is. 

For several years, Susan learned from spiritual teachers, healers, and psychics about the workings of the Universe and our part in it. In 2018 following a divorce and dark night of the soul experience, the Divine calling to ministry was clearly heard. Heeding the call, she began attending classes at Unity Worldwide Spiritual Institute where she was introduced to Christianity and the Bible. With a thirst for more knowledge, Susan attended Hebrew Scriptures and New Testament courses through Yale Divinity School where she developed a passion for religion and how it impacts humanity. Susan is currently pursuing a PhD in Philosophy with Emphasis in Comparative Religion from the University of Sedona.

After retiring from a successful, twenty-one-year career in tax law, Susan was divinely led to create a series of teachings that she calls, Mastering the Material™. The Mastering the Material series delivers unique and personalized individual and group spiritual life coaching, retreats, and workshops that help students and clients learn how to integrate sacred truths into daily life and to navigate the complicated physical world in which we live. Clients are guided along paths of discovery and self-awareness, personal growth, and inner healing, discovering their hidden potential and finding peace. The teachings are practical and non-denominational, designed to enrich daily life through gaining insight and clarity in a way that creates powerful results. 

Susan’s purpose is to ignite the powerful force of love within humanity. Using her unique gifts and abilities to illuminate the path so that others may find their way to the light within themselves. 

Susan is the mother of four children and grandmother of two. She currently resides in Rowlett, Texas with her husband, youngest daughter, two dogs, and three cats.
